Adelaide City — Adelaide

A word from Simon & Lauren

Hey! so glad you made it.

Whether someone invited you, you found us online, or you just took a chance on a Sunday morning - we think you're here for a reason.

We're Simon and Lauren, and we get to lead this incredible community of people at Futures Church. Between us we've got four kids, a love for good coffee, and a genuine belief that church can be one of the best things in your life.

What you'll find here isn't a performance. It's a family. People from every background and stage of life, who've decided to do this together - the faith, the mess, the growth, all of it.

We don't pretend to have everything figured out. But we know the One who does. And every Sunday, we gather around that.

So come in. Grab a coffee. Let someone show you around.

We'd love to get to know you.

Your first Sunday

What to expect at Adelaide City.

Some places you visit, somehow this one feels like you've been here before. It's on Currie Street in the CBD, and from the moment you walk in it just feels like family. You can tell something's happening here. The music is great, the people are genuinely warm, and nobody's going to hand you a pamphlet and make it weird. It's multicultural in the best way - you'll look around on a Sunday and see faces from all over the world, different ages, different stories, different backgrounds. Students sitting next to grandparents. Young families. People who just moved to Adelaide and don't know anyone yet. People who've been coming for twenty years. Somehow it just works, and it doesn't feel forced - it just feels like the city actually showed up. What I love most is that it's not just a Sunday thing. There are actual communities within the church - groups for teenagers, for uni students, for young adults, for families, for older generations. People find their people. You're not just attending, you're actually belonging somewhere. And that's a big deal, especially in a city where it can be pretty easy to feel like nobody knows you exist. And the teaching - it's real. It's not vague inspirational stuff that sounds nice but means nothing on Monday morning. It's honest, it's practical, and it actually connects to your life. We believe God is genuinely at work in people's health, their relationships, their purpose - and we're not shy about that.

It's a multicultural, life-giving church in the heart of Adelaide where people from every walk of life find their place, grow in faith, and discover their purpose.

Sunday at Adelaide City

Only at Adelaide City

  • Walk into Futures Church on a Sunday and you'll notice it immediately.
  • The faces. The languages. The grandparent three rows behind the university student. The family who arrived from the Philippines sitting next to the couple who've called Adelaide home for fifty years.
  • This is what we're most proud of - and we didn't manufacture it. It just grew here.
  • Our campus carries a rare combination of generations and cultures under one roof, worshipping the same Jesus, building the same community. It gives our Sundays a texture and a richness that's hard to put into words until you experience it yourself.
  • It's the thing visitors comment on first. It's the thing our people would miss most.
  • We're not a monoculture with a missions emphasis. We are the many - and we think that's a glimpse of what heaven actually looks like.
  • Come and see.

Youth

Dreamers Youth is more than a Friday night - it's a community where young people are taken seriously. We believe teenagers are capable of real faith, real leadership, and real impact. So we don't water it down. Expect honest conversations, dynamic worship, solid teaching, and a group of leaders who genuinely invest in every young person who walks through the door. Whether you're a regular or it's your first time, you'll find a place here.

bU Women at this campus

bU Women

Sisterhood is where women come to breathe. To laugh, to cry, to sit in a room full of people who actually get it. Life is full - and sometimes heavy. bU creates space to put it down for a moment, encounter God, and leave reminded of who you are and what you carry. Through gatherings, events, and real conversation, women at Futures Church are finding their voice, their confidence, and their people. Led by women who've walked the road and aren't afraid to talk about it - Sisterhood is honest, warm, and genuinely life-giving.

Young Adults

Young Adults and University Students are a core part of our City Campus. With Connect Groups, Events, Gatherings and Community - you'll find more than a church, but a place to belong, grow and be discipled. This is the season that shapes everything. The friendships you make, the faith you build, the person you become. We take that seriously. Whether you're new to the country, navigating uni life, your first job, or just figuring out who you are - there's a place for you here. Real community, real teaching, real people who are in it with you.

Follow-up
If we get details, we will follow up with either a call, text or email the next week.

New to church?

Week one, someone meets you at the door. That's the Futures Church first-month experience. Week 1: You arrive, you're welcomed, you find your feet. No pressure, just a great Sunday. Week 2: A team member follows up, checks in, and invites you to take a next step. Week 3: You start to recognise faces. The music feels familiar. It's starting to feel like yours. Week 4: You're connected. To a group, to people, to something bigger than yourself. We don't leave first-timers to figure it out alone.

From Simon & Lauren

Simon moved from New Zealand to Adelaide at 17 after feeling a stirring that God wanted him in Australia. What he found here wasn't just a new city. He found faith, purpose, and eventually, a calling he's given his life to. From early on, Simon has been passionate about discipleship - about walking alongside people and helping them discover who they were actually created to be. That's not just a ministry value for him, it's personal. Someone did that for him, and he's never forgotten it. Lauren grew up in regional South Australia - grounded, genuine, and with a heart for people baked in from the start. Her faith is deep and her love for family runs through everything she does. She has a gift for making people feel seen and welcomed, and a passion for seeing families grow and thrive together in community. They met in Adelaide, and it's been a partnership ever since - in marriage, in family, and in ministry. Together they have four kids - Hosanna, Noah, Hallie and Jordan - and the way they do family spills directly into the way they lead. At Adelaide City, Simon and Lauren are building something they believe in deeply - a church where people don't just attend, but actually grow. Where disciples are made, families are strengthened, and every person gets the chance to step into the fullness of who God created them to be. They're all in. And they're just getting started.
